Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture (ENSA) de Nantes features among the network of 20 French Ecole Nationales Supérieures d’Architecture.
The School of Architecture delivers courses linked to naval architecture, scenography, architecture and urbanism at Masters or Doctorate level.
ENSA Nantes’s venue in Mauritius is driven by the school’s diversification strategy at international level and falls perfectly in line with the country’s Smart Cities project. It is the first Architecture school of that span to set up in Mauritius.
The school’s mission is to equip Mauritian as well as African students with the best tools and practices to meet the urban and architectural challenges, where pertinent human capital is required.
ENSA Nantes is engaged in research and development and hosts le Centre de Recherche Nantais Architectures Urbanités (CRENAU), geared towards developing methodologies and numerical solutions in line with the climatic and energetic challenges.
Research themes cover habitat, public spaces and imply a considerate amount of aptitudes across architecture, urban planning, sociology, anthropology, physics, graphical computing, arts and history.
The research unit regroups 111 members, of which 35 doctorates on both Nantes and Grenobles sites.
