A first successful seminar on drug prevention on Pierrefonds Campus

Detect. Manage. Prevent.

Those three angles of discussion were thoroughly talked through on the first-of-its-kind seminar on drug prevention organised on 20 November by the Union of Rectors and Deputy rectors of state secondary schools, in collaboration with Uniciti Education Hub. The day-long session gathered 84 rectors and assistant rectors, along with key actors like ADSU, Harm Reduction Unit, Brigade pour la protection des mineurs and the NGO Espoir Revivre Barkly.

All rectors and fellow assistants present were eager to get a maximum of information and key take-aways on how to detect suspicious behaviours among their students on college grounds, specifically how to deal with them, but more importantly how empowered they were in the face of these situations at school. The different interventions allowed for maximum exchanges to provide the best guidelines to all stakeholders, particularly the preventive measures that should be taken to avoid these situations on college premises.

This seminar onwards, the Union expects to further the discussion to come up with a clear protocol on the handling of drug issues with students at schools. This public/private partnership is a major success for Uniciti Education Hub and definitely sets the pace for new collaborative platforms on matters of Education.
