Three students of Uniciti Education Hub just took over the finals of the Inter-University debates in Mauritius and will fly for the regionals in Madagascar. Tanya Fitzgerald, Year 3 LL. B student of Pantheon-Assas, Patrick Pougnet and Reegheshwar Juleemun, both Year 2 students of SUPINFO International University won all the prior debates and the finals which took place this 11 March.
The tournament probed students on the importance of science and specifically on ‘whether science should be made accessible to all to reduce the gap between scientific and non-scientific people’. Our team of UEH were the opponents to the question and therefore needed some solid arguments to defend their ideas.
52 students grouped in 14 teams, lined up for this tournament organised by the Campus Numerique Francophone (CNF) of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, to mark the International Francophone Day celebrated on 20 March.
The National champions will now certainly be representing Mauritius at the Regional finals which will take place from 18 to 22 March at Antananarivo, Madagascar, and will compete against Kenya, Comoros, Mozambique and Madagascar.
Thumbs up, and we’ll watch out for you at the finals! Go Mauritius!
